The Preview Center
The Tampa Firefighters Museum building is an exhibit in itself, beautifully restored to show ceiling scars from previous pole holes and marks on the old red brick walls where various apparatus hung for years.
A very large Gamewell System, first installed in City Hall in 1911 begins the story of Tampa fire communications. The original Watch Booth is outfitted as it would have been circa 1940. The beloved "Little Mac" is a 1949 Mac pumper, fully restored and still on the City’s reserve rolls.
A speeding fire truck replica is available for children to role-play as drivers, donning child-sized bunker gear. A floor map of a home’s interior helps children practice home fire safety and awareness.
A separate Memorial Room provides a contemplative space to remember the Tampa firefighters who have given their lives saving those of others.
